Message from the Chair

Hello Lester B Pearson School Board community. It is with great pride, optimism and enthusiasm that I address you as Chair of the Parents’ Committee. In my 6 years as a Parent Representative to our committee, I have been a part of so many wonderful groups of parents and administrators, all working together for the common goal of advocating for Lester B Pearson School Board families. We are all representing our schools on in this committee because we have children in the school board, and we are here, united in working for our children.

When we make the decision to get involved in Parental Governance, on Governing Board and then here at PC, it’s because we want to get more involved in how the system around our children’s education works. It is because we don’t just want things done for us, we would rather be involved in the doing. At the Parents’ Committee level we consult on many important issues and policies and we come at administrative discussions from the point of view of the family. Ours is an important voice in the operation of the school board and I am looking forward to the challenges this school year will bring.
